Suku Inca terkenal sebagai suku yang mempunyai peradaban dan ilmu pengetahuan yang tinggi. Mulai dari ilmu perbintangan, penanggalan, perburuan, dan masih banyak lagi. Salah satu bukti tingginya peradaban suku inika ini adalah tingginya peradaban sistem pertanianya.
Hal ini dibuktikan dengan penemuan sistem sawah terasering suku inka yang sangat terukur dan indah di sebuah wilayah bernama Maras City yang juga merupakan salah satu tempat tinggal suku Inca di zaman dahulu.
Sawah ini berbentuk terasering melingkar dengan presisi melingkar yang sempurna. Tinggi tiap teraseringnya sekitar 2 meter dengan disertai tata rambat dari batu. Besar kemungkinan sawah ini dulu dipakai sebagai tempat pertanian anggur oleh suku inka.
